Gujarat's ₹14,000 Crore Development Push: PM Modi Unveils Major Projects for Farmers, Infrastructure and Rural Growth

PM Modi announces a ₹14,000 crore development initiative in Gujarat focusing on farmers, infrastructure, and rural growth.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a major development initiative in Gujarat on 30 October 2026, with projects valued at more than ₹14,000 crore spanning agriculture, dairy development, urban transport, roads, railways and social infrastructure.

The programme in Banaskantha highlighted the government's emphasis on strengthening rural livelihoods while improving connectivity and creating infrastructure for long-term economic growth.

From advanced cattle-breeding research and food-processing facilities to Metro expansion and clean-energy projects, the initiatives reflect a broad approach to development that connects farmers, industries and urban communities.

Key Development Projects Announced in Gujarat

A major highlight was the inauguration of the **₹324.77 crore Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre** at Bhildi, Banaskantha. Spread across 127 acres, the facility aims to improve cattle genetics and dairy productivity. Other Banas Dairy projects include a French fries processing plant at Sanadar and an automated storage facility at Palanpur, bringing the combined investment to ₹407.56 crore.

To promote renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, foundation stones were laid for two **Bio-CNG plants at Tharad and Radhanpur**, designed to convert cattle waste into clean fuel and organic fertiliser.

Farmers also received financial support through the **24th PM-KISAN instalment of approximately ₹19,000 crore**, transferred directly to eligible beneficiaries. This amount is separate from the ₹14,000 crore development package.

Infrastructure projects included the Ahmedabad Metro Airport and GIFT City extensions, along with the ₹2,600 crore widening of the Ahmedabad–Mehsana Road to eight lanes. New railway services connecting Sabarmati, Varanasi, Mehsana and Becharaji were also introduced.

Additionally, **4,030 child-friendly Anganwadi centres** formed part of the social development initiatives, aimed at improving early childhood education, nutrition and welfare services.

Supporting Viksit Bharat 2047

These initiatives bring together agricultural modernisation, renewable energy, better connectivity and social welfare. Their successful implementation could strengthen Gujarat's rural economy, create new opportunities for farmers and businesses, and contribute to India's long-term development goals under **Viksit Bharat 2047**.
